Nepal's Kathmandu to India's Siliguri Bus Service flagged off

A bus service was launched on Monday between Kathmandu and Siliguri, the 11th bus service between Nepal and India.

The Kathmandu to Siliguri bus service was launched during a programme in the Kathmandu on Monday.

Minister for transport management Raghubir Mahaseth and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri jointly flagged off the bus service.

Initially, India will operate buses on the route.

According to the bus operators, the Kathmandu-Kakarbhitta-Siliguri bus service will operate on a daily basis.

The 44 seaters air-conditioned deluxe bus will complete 650 KM journey between Kathmandu to Siliguri in approximately 18 hours.

The bus will leave Kathmandu daily at 3 PM and reach Siliguri via Kakarvitta-Panitanki border next day at around 9 AM.

The bus fare is 2,000 Nepali Rupees and tickets would also be available on-line.

A total of 13 routes have been approved for operating regular bus services between the two countries.
